When I was a kid, playing with Legos made me feel smart and capable. Just reach into the colorful pile and grab the blocks you need to create something both imaginative and solid. Working with Legos early-on influenced the way I approach problem-solving, and I think many designers would say the same. In particular, I’ve heard designers compare working within a design system to building with Legos.

Some design systems are robust and mature, with far-reaching capabilities, while others are just coming together. They all use a collection of reusable components, but what’s the difference between a style-guide and a true design system, and why should you care? In this talk, Jorge Maya, UX Designer at Spring Studio will give you the skinny on design systems, why they’re important and how they’re changing the face of design. Enjoy!
